My husband and I purchased our Palomino filly, Helios Cinnamon, from the Compact QH Stud in VIC as a yearling in December 2004, with the intention to predominantly train her in Endurance/ Western pleasure and to take over the reins from my 27yo soon to be retired mare. I began training Cinnamon in Natural Horsemanship very soon after picking her up from the Stud and by the time she was 18 months old, I felt that she was mature enough in herself to be able to begin rider training, which presented a problem because I didn't plan to back her for another twelve months. I backed and first rode Cinnamon in early 2006 and then turned her out for winter. Much to my pleasure and surprise, in Spring as a rising 3yo, having been spelled for over 3 months, she picked everything back up immediately where we left off and is now going very nicely under saddle. We're extremely proud of her and she has more than cemented herself as a permanent part of our family. Cinnamon has proven herself to be, not only a horse with superb looks and confirmation, she is also extremely intelligent, confident and has a lovely temperament. The more we train and work with her, the better the results. Judging by what I have found in Cinnamon and the top quality of her bloodlines, I would and have highly recommended the bloodstock at the Compact QH Stud to anyone looking to purchase a top quality Quarter Horse.
